I am beyond excited to begin this new series today!
Over the years, my collection of gardening books has really grown into something I adore. Each book has a special place in my heart and each book meets a specific need. Every now and then I flip through the pages of one of these books and find new insights and inspirations each time time. Through this series I hope to share some of that with all of you.
The first book is “On Garden Style” by Bunny Williams. Bunny is famous for her incredible designs. She swears that the key to a successful garden is good bones. I couldn’t agree more!
The beautiful blooms above (left page) are azaleas. We are very fortunate to find this gorgeous flower blooming every spring.
The espalier tree (bottom right) is named after the art of training wood to grow into a perfect shape. I admire this technique so much and only wish that I knew how. I just cheat and buy the finished product instead.
The image above holds extra special meaning for me. I have such fond memories of visiting the Schonbrunn Palace (top right) as a little girl. When I was younger we would visit family in Vienna and the thing I remember most was falling head over heals in love with the gardens there.
I hope you enjoyed these images as much as I do. I look forward to sharing another one of my favorite books with you soon.
What are some of your favorite books to flip through?
