Mixing it up a bit with a plant that requires sun and one that requires shade! A spring container garden by Carmen Johnston Gardens

Today I made a huge gardening faux pas–I combined a plant that belongs in the sun with a plant that belongs in the shade. The result? Worth it!

Ingredients:
1. Crocodile Fern (Tall)
2. Ruffled Fern (Thick)
3. Mezoo Trailing Red (Trailing)

The mezoo loves basking in the sun, while the fern loves hanging out in the shade. I just couldn’t resist putting them together, though.

I know what you might be thinking, Will this container garden even last? Yes! As long as you keep it in a bright, sunny room and are careful not to water it too much these plants will do just fine.

However, you should separate the plants as soon as the frost-free date comes to pass. You can keep your ferns inside or you can plant them in the shade. Take your mezoo outside and into the sun! Watch what happens as she soaks up the rays–tiny, red blooms will start gracing her face.
